This is how th e “Purple Pinkie” has become a symbol of a polio free world. Because purple pinkies serve as symbols for polio immunizations\, for a donation o f $1.00 (the cost of a single immunization)\, volunteers will color pinkie s purple to help raise money for polio eradication.
