Guest Speaker:

Jeffrey Lebsack was our speaker from Friends of the Riverline. He is a retired Civil

Engineer and a current Rotarian from Buffalo Sunrise. The Riverline works alongside

the Niagara Greenway Project. The Riverline project has been going on since 2017. It

was initiated by the Western New York Land Conservancy to transform the former

DL&W rail corridor along the Buffalo Waterfront communities (1.5 Miles). Friends of the

Riverline took over the project in 2025. They advocate for the NFTA to keep the project

progressing. The communities’ vision is more than just a trail, it is a vibrant, safe and

welcoming space for all. The three sections of the project are ‘The Dell’ (The Old First

Ward), The Basswoods’, and ‘The Junctures’. There are several Riverline projects

across the United States and Friends of The Riverline meet with other groups that are

a part of the ‘Highline Network’ and meet once a month to network and learn from each

other. They received a small grant from General Mills, and a mural was created at the

Moore Street Gateway which is located behind the Buffalo Creek Casino Parking

Garage. The design was approved in July of 2025, and the entire corridor is shovel

ready. $2.1 Million has been secured for detailed design and construction. $100 Million

is needed to complete the Riverline Project.

Split/Ace of Spades:

Donna’s ticket was picked for the split and she won $11. Ron’s was picked for the Ace

and he chose the Jack of Hearts. The pot is up to $176.

Happy Dollars:

Ron had a happy dollar – was inducted into the Allegany College Hall of Fame!

Steve had a Happy Dollar – celebrated another Anniversary with his wife over the

weekend!

Fine Master:

Steve quizzed us on some very interesting Halloween Trivia:

• America’s Favorite Halloween Candy is Reese’s.

• The first city wide celebration of Halloween was in Anuka, MN.

• There are 206 bones in the average human skeleton.

• “Do you like scary movies?” comes from the Scream Franchise.
