Speaker:
Vincent Buccitelli (new member), owner of New York Marketing, for 13 years. He deals in graphic design, digital marketing, and updates for websites. He offers custom print services including business cards, brochures, business folders, etc. He made our 100th anniversary booklet and the banner we use at all of our meetings and events. He works for many non-profits and churches, and it’s all done through remote work, no office to contend with. Check out his website at www.nygmsonline.com.
Split/Ace of Spades:
Brandon won $7 on his FIRST meeting back and Tim picked the 2 of diamonds.
Fine Master:
Confessions: Brandon confessed to being away at camp for 2 months and THEN going to Florida for a week. He’s also become a board member for the district. He donated $20!
Gary quizzed us Olmstead trivia: Parks he created (Lincoln, Chapin), Avenue he designed (Richmond) and circles he created (Soldier’s, Bidwell). Very interesting.
Steve closed the meeting at 12:43 with a reading of the 4-Way test led by Brandon.
P.S. Due to unforeseen circumstances, last weeks Ken was not published on time. Announcements are noted this week, but not our guest speaker. Here's her presentation:
Guest Speaker: Buffalo C.A.R.E.S Animal Rescue
Paula Tatu Founder and President started in 2013. She is a special ed teacher at Cleve Hill.
They will take dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits etc., etc.! If they can find a foster they will take it.
2023 They bought a building in Kenmore. They do not have any animals there as that involves different licensing and insurance. In order to take an animal, they must have a foster available as there is no housing. The organization is 100% volunteers. They work with animal control organizations, puppy mills and get animals from other states such as Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina. The intake (lots of phone calls) is handled by Paula, and she determines what fosters may work with each animal. Case managers are assigned to all the fosters and animals. Through a screened adoption process, the animals will be placed in permanent homes.
