President Dick opened the meeting at and led us in the pledge of allegiance. The large Flag is back! Gary led us in invocation. Our guests today was Melanie Brem from Connect Life also our speaker. Mike Ford mentioned the date for the cigar and bourbon event at the Park Club is June 24th. and the cost is $100. Contact Tom Lang to rsvp. Gary announced the Independence Day Fireworks on July 4th at 7:30 will be catered by Enchanted catering. Also byo drinks chairs and children. Cost $20. Cathy reached out to us about heling with landscaping at Greycliff conservatory, this will also include a tour after. Date is Thursday July 8th. Dick won the 50/50 $13 and Ed Hacherl picked the 5 of clubs, better luck next time as the pot of gold is building.
Cathy Piciulo our finemaster tested each table with trivia , our table was saved by Ron with the correct answer of Marvel comics. I forgot the question. Larrys table as well as Teds struck out. So sorry. Our speaker Melanie Brem explained that connect Life provides blood for most of the hospitals in the area. They also accept tissue donations. There are 7 mobile sites, a example is Kenton Elmwood Commons as the are open on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month for donations. Donor has to be 16 years old. Last year they collected 20% more than the previous year. Each donation saves 3 lives. They will also blood type each donor.
