President Brandon opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at 12:22. Gary led us in prayer.
Ron Levea introduced Leslie Durdle and Lisa Davidson.
Announcements: Karen will pick up pumpkins on Wednesday for KENtoberfest, which is this Saturday 9/23 from 3-9pm.
Holly mentioned that we have a music vendor. Bring lawn chairs.
Lisa reminded us about the Meat Raffle at the Knights of Columbus on Friday 12/1. Baskets are ready. We need 12 volunteers from our club; sign-up sheet will be passed around again next week. Does anyone have a connection with Wegmans? The Buffalo Bills or Sabres? Let Lisa know.
President Brandon introduced our speaker Holly Nowak from HMN Resources. Holly focused on leadership. What do people look for in their leader? Followers have 4 basic needs-trust, compassion, stability, and hope. Each table brainstormed on these needs and we came up with some great conversations.
Ron's split drawing picked Linda for the 50/50 and Cam drew the 9 of hearts.
Fine master Larry asked for confessions and Cam confessed that he had a baby-sitting experience that I think went well. I confessed to going to Fenway Park for 2 Red Sox-Yankee games. I also attended a dinner at The Anchor Bar sponsoring 10 exchange students. Mine was from Brazil. We had a wonderful time. Larry quizzed us on some Rotary trivia and we need to brush up on our knowledge.
Next meeting on 9/25 is a club assembly. Lots of stuff to go over.
