  • In Pat’s absence, Brandon thanked all who volunteered at Shred-It on Saturday. It was another big success. We collected $11,400. Reminder of our trail clean up this coming Saturday 4/20 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. We will meet at our Rotary bench at Isle View Park, rain or shine. Bring gloves and a rake and Pat will have all other needed supplies. We will venture over to Moonies afterwards for lunch.
  • Cathy updated on the success of the gala that was held on April 10. There were about 60 people in attendance which included local and state dignitaries. We received several proclamations. The programs turned out beautifully and the slide show was amazing. There are more programs at Cathy’s office if anyone is interested and was not able to attend. Brandon plans to upload the slideshow to the website, hopefully by the end of the month. Cathy would like to gather all the information from that night and present it to the historical society. What a great idea!
  • John Hannon thanked the club for the $1,000 grant for bells to go on the bikes for Wheels for Workers. They ordered their 2nd shed/showroom due to the volume of bikes. You can drop off bikes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4007 Main St, Amherst.

Joe Arcara introduced our speaker, Brain Pearson, the founder and managing member of Valuation Advisors, LLC. Brian spoke to us about how the value of your business is determined, having an annual value determination, and having a workable buy/sell agreement. Value is determined by 3 primary approaches: Asset-balance sheet, Income-present value of future income, Market-sale transactions, guideline companies. Why have an annual valuation? For planning purposes, to have an exit strategy-when to sell and how long that may take, and your business is probably your largest asset that should be monitored. A buy/sell agreement should address the 3 “D’s”-death, disability, and disagreements.
Brian spoke at length, answered many questions and was a wealth of information. He’s located at 5214 Main Street, #200, Williamsville and can be reached by phone at 716-839-5290 or by email at bp@valuationpros.com.

Split club of $13 was won by our guest Gerry Spencer and Holly picked the King of Clubs.
