Brandon Blatz called the meeting to order at 12:23 p.m. and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Ed
gave the invocation.

Announcements:  Mike Austin has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is undergoing chemo.
Donna spoke with Art.  He is “alive and kicking” as he said.  Hopes to be back to meetings as soon as possible. 
 
Larry mentioned the golf outing with other service clubs will be help in July.  Our club will be on the 8th hole from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.   More details to follow.
 
Cam submitted our Kentoberfest proposal to the Town.   The date is September 23, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The committee will be established soon.  He welcomed suggestions for the event whether they are same as last year or new additions.  A few comments included dunk tank, pumpkin painting for kids, seeking a second food vendor to offer variety, and vendors/sponsorships details will be available within the next 30 days per Holly.
 
The Boy Scouts of America, Polaris District, recognized Stephen Blass and Bob Patterson with each receiving the District of Merit Award (the Scouts’ highest award), and Dick Hanaburgh with the Sparkplug Award at their recent awards dinner.  Congratulations gentlemen!
 
Donna announced birthdays and anniversaries for the months of January, February & March.  Birthdays in January: Ed Hacherl, Chuck Patterson, Ron Levea; February: John Hannon, Glenn Gentzke, Bill Brucker, Holly Nowak; March: Joe Arcara, Paul Chisholm.  Anniversaries in January: Rick Graham (29 years); February:  Holly Nowak (7 years), Sue Jandzunski (7 years), Mike Austin (14 years), Ron Levea (41 years), Joe Arcara (12 years), John Coogan (22 years); March: Greg Stevens (2 years).
 
Brandon reminded the group that requests for Bandit tickets are due this afternoon.  Venmo Brandon for tickets.
 
Split Club/Ace of Spades- Brandon won the split club - $14.  Brandon also had the winning ticket for the Ace of Spades.  He pulled the Ten of Diamonds.
 
Confessions: Donna brought in a box of Oreo cookies for each table as today is National Oreo Day.  She also compiled a list of birthdays and Rotary members’ anniversaries for the months of January – March. 
Pat took a road trip to the Wake Forest game. 
 
Brandon coached his youth hockey team’s game.  Although they lost 3-2, the 10 year olds were thrilled to play on the same ice as Connor McDavid.
 
Other Business:
 
Fiona updated the group on the project in Tanzania which the Foundation provided funding for the water project.  The water which needed to be filtered is now done so by a plant based system.  100,000 children in the village now have filtered water.  Savio is working on a presentation of the project which will showcase our gift at the UN in March.
 
Brandon went through slides of our website’s updates.  He highlighted Meetings, Events – where speakers’ names for upcoming meetings are located – added Past Presidents, Paul Harris Recognition Award.  Discussion by group to update personal information on the website.  Log into Club Runner to edit profile.  Username:  firstname.lastname.333 Password: 333
