President Brandon opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at
12:20. John Coogan led us in prayer.
Announcements: Chuck updated us on foundation grant requests, they are
due in by 11/30.
Larry mentioned that the Service clubs are having the Thanksgiving Dinner
11/15 6pm at the Grill at The Dome. RSVP by 11/8. This is a Holiday gift
drive so bring an unwrapped gift, proceeds are going to Kenton Closet.
Cathy reminded us about the Holiday party at Park Club on 12/7. Please
donate a gift of $50 value as proceeds go to Operation Santa.
Cam introduced our guest, Karen K, this is her third meeting and she is
anxious to become a member. The club also welcomed Friona from
Clarence Rotary.
Larry introduced speaker Dennis Lefebre from Buffalo Sunrise Rotary.
Dennis does mission trips, his first project was in 1998 they built a school in
Uganda. Dennis shared some of the challenges working in a third world
country. The biggest one is making sure the person you are partnered with
is properly vetted. Money has a funny way of "falling" into the wrong
pockets.
50/50 Split, Linda won $15 and Karen K drew the 2 of diamonds.
Finemaster Brandon asked for confessions and Tim was not at shred it as
he was somewhere out of town. Steve went to the Bills game and did some
early trick or treating. Brandon was in Watkins Glen. Steve reminded Larry
to confess his 35th anniversary at Mass Mutual. That set him back $2.
Brandon quizzed us on Halloween trivia. All I got out of it was that Harry
Houdini died on this day and the Munsters lived at 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
My day is now complete.
