Donna began our meeting with the Pledge, new member Cathy P. led us in “God Bless America”. Gary gave our invocation. Our only guest was Wendy Miller Backman of Senior Wishes. Tom announced the fire boat details. As it turned out, it was a terrific event. The weather cooperated. The ride was awesome, diner at the Saturn Club was over the top. Another very successful couple’s event. Donna is trying to get our District Governor to speak at our meeting. Details to follow. Dick will speak to us Monday about Shred it that is coming up 10/13.
Mike Ford stepped up as fine master. With no preparation he was able to raise some money and have a lot of fun. Paul was fined for his phone ringing during the meeting. As it turned out, it was Mike Hetler’s. Both were fined. Chuck Patterson received his new name tag. He is classified as a philosophy reader. We asked him to speak at a meeting. We could all us a good nap. Paul thanked the four some that took his place at the Chamber Golf Outing. He had a conflict with another tournament and as it turned out he had his best round ever. Audrey was fined $5 for nothing. Gary was fined for sticking up for Audrey. Anyone, except Audrey, who went to the Bills game Sunday was exempt from fines. Mike played fantasy football trivia.
Joe Arcara won the split club and Paul C missed the Ace. Tom suggested the person who draws the split club can offer it up to the person who draws the Ace chance for a chance to win big. TBD.
Donna introduced Wendy Miller Backman from senior wishes. Senior Wished was founded by United Church Home Society in 2013. Their mission is to foster respect and appreciation for seniors by granting life enriching wishes. Wendy gave many examples of heart felt experiences.
