President Brandon opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at 12:27. Cathy led us in prayer remembering the tragedy of this day 22 years ago.
Announcements: Cam asked for volunteers to sign up for KENtoberfest, especially for clean up at 9pm. New hours are 3-9 pm. All vendors are in place. A committee meeting is next week, date to be determined.
Saturday 10/14 from 10-2 is Shred it; we need volunteers. A committee meeting will be on Monday 9/18 after our regular meeting.
Bill Brucker’s son Dennis passed away. Please keep Bill in your prayers.
Linda announced that a Schofield fundraiser is on 10/21 at Ken-Ton Commons. Tickets are $25. See Linda for more details and tickets.
Our speaker on 9/18 is Holly Nowak-“Why People Follow”.
Jim Jones introduced our speaker Christine Krolewicz, program manager with Go Bike. Their goal is to promote active and sustainable transportation. Go Bike has been around for 20 years. They are instrumental in making Parkside and Linden intersection biker and pedestrian friendly. Jim Jones designed it. Let’s Grow Metro is their recent project.
50/50 split was won by Jim Jones and Brandon picked the jack of diamonds.
Finemaster Larry asked for confessions and Brandon confessed that he attended a Notre Dame football game and they did ride share. Linda announced her grandson was baptized. Ron stayed up all night studying club history. Why?
Larry quizzed us on 9/11 facts and we were reminded that 2977 lives were lost, 1st plane hit Tower #1 at 8:46 am.
